If you've scanned the threads, EVERYBODY hits a stall around Weeks 3 or 4. Everybody! It's normal. Your body is adjusting to the trauma it's been through, then adjusting from liquids to soft foods and soft foods to solids. It's normal. Don't be discouraged, it's okay. Hang in there. The scale will move in a week or two.

Yep definitely normal. I was mad as heck too. I swear I called my NUT 20x's during the first month! LOL

Embrace the stall

People have reposted this a lot of times over the years. Good information but I'm curious if she stayed the course and made it to goal. She sort of dropped off the radar a little over 2 years ago. She started out at 565 lbs and her last update on her ticker shows she made it about half way to goal. When you have 400 lbs to lose, numbers on a scale don't mean as much to you as they would to somebody that is only looking to lose a quarter of that (not to imply that 100 lbs isn't a lot of weight to lose).

Some people realize at a certain point post-op that they are no longer a help on here and their frustrations with questions that have been discussed in the past are starting to show so they just fade away. I have a feeling Inner Surfer Girl was probably at that point and it showed in the way she worded this post. Starting a sentence with "Guess What" conveys frustration with the people that aren't at the same point in their journey as she was.

I think most people that post a question on here already know the answer before they ask but are looking for encouragement and optimism. Your success is very encouraging but I don't think she was at the point where she could justifiably use such preachy rhetoric when addressing questions from people new to this process.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
