Hello everyone, I have not even had my surgery yet, but I think the thing that worries me the most is the pureed stage of eating. What types of things did you eat during this phase? Did you actually put food in a blender and puree it? or, did you go to taco bell and buy a bunch of refried Beans to eat? lol. but seriously, i'm not sure I'll be able to get pureed foods down.... thoughts?

Yep, you can through pretty much everything in a blender or food processor or a Nutri Ninja in my case. I put chili Beans, Soup, tuna... What ever you can throw in there that isn't too dry goes down pretty good.

I found pouched eggs agreed with me. Still issues with scrambled eggs. Cottage cheese worked well

Some foods I found good during puree were:

chicken salad
Fat free refried Beans with some salsa for moisture, cheese and sour cream
Broccoli cheese soup
Lobster bisque soup
chili

And a few times during dinner, I just threw a serving size of whatever the family was having into my mini food processor.

Baby food. The chicken and turkey were good, the beef was gross. I think I tried mashed bananas and that was gross. Baby food applesauce was OK, though.

There was some sort of lentil Soup recipe in here that I made and pureed, that worked well too.

Focus on now! Soup will be come your friend. Black bean soup is awesome and you can make it spicy or not depends on our taste. There is so much out there. Think about what you can have not what you cant. If there is some thing you really like look and see if it can be changed to fit what you can eat.

Applesauce, even the unsweetened tastes sweet now, sugar free puddings, many Jello flavors to choose from although my one dietician groaned h9memade cheesy potato Soup, skim milk and lower fat cheese, said not happy with that. Told them okay but my pouch was, and anything that does not puke up is my friend. Also pureed down pears, did you know They are less- allergic- invoking than apples? Never did before, but you learn a lot around here.
Weird things I CAN'T handle, bananas, cottage cheese and Greek Yogurt straight although in a smoothie I usually can do okay.

I just got some pintos and cheese from Taco Bell. It will probably take me 2-3 days to eat it. Besides that I’ve had baked potato oatmeal yogurt Protein Drinks and unsweetened apple sauce. sugar free Jello and popsicles if I want a snack. Thursday I get to move up to semi regular food.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
