Wishing everyone a safe and successful surgery today. I feel like I am on a line watching everyone's number being called except mine. Nonetheless I feel such a special joy for everyone as this journey is life changing and the road may have been rough for some but through it all we made it this far.

Enjoy this calm peaceful time. Its vey chaotic when you approach your date. Believe everyone that says it speeds up at the end. You will have so many things you'll want to wrap up at the last minute like thoroughly cleaning your house and running errands so you don't have to do anything strenuous after surgery. Your day will be here in no time and when it does I wish you good luck and good health 💜

Justmetj is right, it seems slow to you right now. It was for all of us. But 2-4 days before your surgery you probably will feel like things are suddenly moving too fast. You'll have second thoughts and want to cancel the surgery (but you won't), you'll feel a little rushed and scared. It'll pass. Then you'll be in pre-op in the hospital and it all goes REALLY fast. Then the anesthetist will talk with you and you'll go to sleep.

And then seemingly a few minutes later, but really hours, you'll wake up and start healing with all of us. Enjoy your time before surgery! You can still get around independently, drive, and do things. In healing, that ends...

Good luck to those having surgery!
I have my final pre-op appointment tomorrow. I will get to talk to the surgeon and will be starting my pre-op diet.
It is starting to feel real now.!

Wishing everyone all the best pre and post op. It’s wonderful to see everyone’s posts.

5 more sleeps till I’m there!

So happy for all of us.

Hugs and prayers, whatever anyone needs.

Second day home after surgery. It feels so good to shower and sleep in my own bed. My energy is better every day and moving is pretty easy. So far so good.

Here we go! Day 1 preop diet! I am on my second Protein Drink of the day. Anybody have any advise on preop things we can eat that require chewing? Besides Jello. It’s weird but i feel like my mouth is telling me like “ummm so are we not being used today” lol

Hope everyone is doing great! Time is definitely flying by!!! 😩🙌🏼❤️

Me too, I am sending you best wishes too. As for me, I finally released some gas today, apparently that's a milestone and a big deal. Just sipping, walking and sleeping. The worst part of this is just the boredom. Laying around, thinking about Protein and dehydration, or reading. I like the idea of eating "real food", but tbh if a whole platter of Chinese food was in front of me I wouldn't want it. Before surgery, Chinese food was my favorite food, my total downfall, lol! Now I don't know what I like anymore. I want to chew on something salty but all food is disgusting right now. Hope it lasts! Best wishes to everybody here.

Yes I am getting super board! I just cant get comfortable. I feel like I cant sit still. I have no desire for food and quite frankly feeling done constantly thinking about how much Fluid I am drinking. I do feel a little bit better every day. I tried chicken boulion and V8 juice I like the salt :) those are both considered clear liquid.< /span>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
