March 27th was my gastric bypass. Down 43 pounds from surgery date, and 60 pounds from highest weight. I'd like to lose another 65 pounds.

I was stalled for a bit several weeks ago and it's slowed down for me even after the stall, but I've started doing a lot more cardio and strength training. I'm down to 300 pounds as of this morning. 114 lost from highest weight, 81 lost from surgery date.

I had surgery on March 8th and am down 70 lbs since surgery and 105 lbs from my highest weight. I have some challenges with food, at times I don’t listen to my pouch and take that extra bite of food, which results in me getting sick, but I’m working on listening to my body.

I’m also fearful of gaining everything back down the road. I’ve had several people tell me about a friend who had surgery years ago and gained all the weight back. I know everyone is different and I’m in control of my food choices but I can’t help but worry.

Overall, it’s been gong well and I’m really happy I finally made the choice to have surgery. 😊

That’s awesome progress. I’m right behind you. My surgery was March 4th. I feel the same as you. I struggle some days but don’t regret the surgery for one minute. I feel for the first time that I am living my best life. I too though worry about regain. I guess we just have to have faith in ourselves. Keep up the good work!

Stalled again at almost 5 months out. For about 2 1/2 weeks so far. I'm 50 pounds down but wishing this stall hadnt hit now. Onederland is only 22 pounds away and I'm feeling discouraged. Not really sure the best thing to do so I'm going back to supplementing my mini meals with Protein Shakes and ~700 calories per day. At least for a few days. I admit my Water intake has been poor over the past 2 weeks and I will push to ensure I get my 64-72 in today.

Does anyone have any other ideas for stall busters???

I keep hitting stalls too, but am trying to look at the big picture. What I’ve noticed is that I NEED Proteins. I’ve also noticed that for 700 calories a day doesn’t cut it. My body goes into starvation mode and the stall lasts longer. I’m down 58 lbs. it’s slow, but it keeps coming off little by little. Congrats on your loss so far. Keep on keeping on.

Thank you! Appreciate you sharing. This is definitely not a sprint and I’m in it for the long haul. Figuring out how this body works at my age is definitely a daily learning experience. 😌

I’m down 82 lbs and the only downer is that my boobs are pretty much gone :( I can’t do sweets and I haven’t had a sandwich (white bread) since my surgery. I started doing Beachbody focus t25 which I’m hoping will help tone a bit

Last Sunday marked 6 months since surgery. I have lost 83 lbs (118 from my highest weight). I’m starting to find my voice, have more confidence in myself and the decisions I make. I’m starting to shop at stores other than Lane Bryant or Torrid. I’m even exercising and kind of enjoy it!

I also find myself making poor food choices, some candy or a cookie instead of Protein. I’ve had a rough few weeks. My weight loss has significantly slowed to a crawl and I've had a few bouts of negative self talk and beating myself up, instead of acknowledging the decision and moving forward. I had an appointment with my therapist a few days ago, which helped and I will continue working on making better choices and not best myself up.

I'm scared because I don’t want to go backwards and regain the weight. The rational side of my brain is saying to take a deep breath, trust my tool and get back to basics. My irrational side of my brain is hysterically screaming that I’ve ruined everything, broken my pouch so I might as well eat another piece of candy.

I know this is going to take lots of hard work, sweat, maybe a few tears and I need to believe in me. If this were my best friend saying all of this you bet your a@@ I would be her biggest cheerleader, so now I need to do the same for me.

thanks for letting me rant. I don’t post very often but just needed to say these things to someone who might be able to relate. 😊

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
