Post surgery liquid diet

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if there are Soups from restaurants that are allowed on this diet? I’m craving some Soup with flavor not just out of the box/can? Also if the soup has chunks and you blend/purée it, is that allowed? I’m in my first week post surgery. Thanks.

I puréed my homemade Soups I had froze. Not spicy or full of meats tho. I also had egg drop Soup which was very comforting.

You could get something from take-out from a restaurant and puree it at home.

Pho or Japanese ramen are perfect for restaurant meals or takeout. Really early on, I would just have the broth. Later in the process I would puree the meat/veg into the Soup at home. Then I progressed to just pulling out the meat and dicing up the larger pieces. I still eat it about once a week now but the only thing I skip are the noodles. So delicious!

The Soups look good. I seem to have an issue with solids/liquids at the same time.. they totally make me nauseous. I would have to blend everything.

I made homemade 11 bean Soup and added lentils and barley. A little goes a long way so I didn’t make too much. There is a great product called Better Than Bouillon which is located in the soup isle at your store. Adds great flavor. I blended it smooth and added a dash of vinegar to prevent gas issues. Freezes well too. I ate this soup daily for two weeks. Added powdered egg white for even more Protein. Homemade is yummy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
