Light headed standing up

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else have significant light headed spells when they stand up? My blood pressure drops when I stand and it's very disconcerting. I talked to my office but they were stumped. It's worse when I take a bath but that's expected in hot Water.

There is often a significant difference between lying, sitting, standing. You may need to go for tilt table tests.

I had a few days of dizziness and read on here it could be lack of Protein or beginnings of dehydration. I definitely wasn’t getting 64 ounces so I tried harder to git that goal and even the next day the dizziness was almost gone. Two days and completely gone.

orthostatic hypotension. An easy habit is to do some ankle motions or leg kicks, tighten muscles or use your arms to push up from the chair you are sitting on. Anything that will increase your heart rate and blood pressure so that when you do go to stand up it may drop but not as low and thus hopefully you will not have symptoms of dizziness. If you are getting out of bed, sit on the edge of the bed for 30 seconds, do leg/arm motions as well.

I agree that the likely culprit is beginning stages of dehydration. This was happening to me until I significantly upped my Water intake. How much water are you getting per day?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
