Needing some help

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I am needing some help (advice) on some issues that I am having.

I had the surgery last April and lost 134 pounds. It has been an incredible journey. However lately I can feel myself getting more and more hungry. I can also tell that my portion sizes are getting larger. I’m not wanting to get back to my old habits but i feel stuck. I’m also having a hard time getting back into cooking my meals. I used to cook so much food and now that I’m not eating very much I feel lost when I cook. Can anyone give me some advice. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!

-ryan

Welcome and just curious, what are you doing for meals right now? How much do you eat. Post a day or two of food and let us look.

Thank you for responding. Ummmm it’s hard to tell. I work 2 jobs and they are weird hours so I kinda just eat what I have available. But it’s usually no more than 7 oz at a time. I don’t have set meal times. I just eat when I get hungry. So far today I’ve had coffee and some eggs and sausage.

For me I find that when I am not eating set meals is where I struggle the most. It may be helpful to start back to 3 meals per day at set times to get a good idea of where you are at. We can definitely eat a lot more when we graze or dont eat until satisfied in one sitting.

I kind of am in the same boat as you. I have gone back to making sure I pack all my meals the night before. When I get hungry, I can only grab from my pre-packed bag. This way I know they are smart choices. It stops me from just grabbing whatever is near. Also remember if you drink a big glass of Water, you won't be quite as hungry. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
