Sorry for the TMI post, but I'm curious to know if anyone else is experiencing very long, loud, stinky farts? If so, do you have solutions for this problem? Beano? Probiotics? Never leaving your house?

Oh gosh yes, but usually only if I've eaten too much fat or carbs

Interesting. I'll keep an eye on that, but it doesn't seem to have rhyme or reason right now. Thank you.

I agree on the carb thing - that does happen to some people (but not all) when they eat carbs. Sugar alcohol can also be a culprit for some people

The gas issue may be the thing I'm dreading the most after surgery. I work in an open office with cubicles, so it will be hard to hide it. How often are people passing gas? Is there time to run to the toilet and do it there?

it's not a universal problem. I've never had issues with it. Some do, some don't. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones!

73 days post op - no real issues now, but "never trust a fart" early on! 😎

That's good to hear! I'll remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel if the gas is out of control in the early days after surgery.

Tooting post surgery that's okay, it's the untrustworthy farts I dislike, but unless I take laxatives I'm dry as the Kalihari Desert after my RnY. That's why I was interested the other day reading about MCT, I'm for things that help slide along and painlessly out. Until then I guess me and Squatty Potty are steady-dating.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
