Surgery in 2 1/2 hours and I am a nervous wreck 😢

Recommended Posts

I haven’t slept all night.. I am so excited to get this done, but I have never had surgery, and the unknown is worrying me. I’ve cried on and off the past 24 hours. Is this normal?

Yes!!! I have had lots of surgeries/general anaesthetic procedures (so many I have lost count) and I still felt nervous going under this last time for my bypass. You will get through this!! It's hard but totally doable. Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing this, and that the docs wouldn't do it if they didn't think it was in your best health interest!!

Super normal :)
The next few weeks as you start to lose you’ll be emotional so expect that too.
You’ll do great!

Getting through surgery and that first month is the hardest part! Soon the weight will be falling off and you'll be like the rest of us raving that it was the best thing youve ever done! Good luck!

It’s normal! I almost started crying in the pre-op waiting area after that hooked me up to the IV!

The first week is rough, but you can do it! Being able to look through the forums here and talk to be people helped immensely. You’re not alone!

Hope all went well! I was a nervous wreck before mine but excited as well. I will be one month post op come this Saturday. First few days are the hardest but nothing you can't handle, then like someone already said, you'll be like the rest of us saying it was the best thing you ever did!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
