Congrats on having the surgery and also for asking for help! That's the 1st step with anything!!! You want to start back up and that's huge! I'm just a couple weeks out of surgery so I'm no expert but I do try to find positivity with most things. It's been rough for me too. I lost my mom on dec 20th and had my surgery on the 26th. So yea..I havent been top motivated to do anything! What is helping me get through each day is the fact that I have each day to get better. It's one day at a time! Start slow getting as much Protein as you can. Try to eliminate the carbs and go from there. This isn't a sprint! It's a life long marathon that we can get through. We had the surgery so we could better ourselves. So that's what we need to do. I'm here if you need someone to chat with

Have you connected with a surgeon in your new state for continuing followup visits? The will see patients on whom they didn't operate. Also, look for support groups in your new area. They are usually open to everyone, no matter where you had surgery. Good luck!

I was exactly this way at 8 months. I pulled out all of my nutrition notes and acted like I was prepping for surgery. I did Protein Shakes and fluids for 1 week and then started back to eating small meals again choosing Protein first and no bread. This helped reset my mind again. This is a journey, not a sprint. WE will fall down. Just pick yourself up and try, try again. You can do this!! Remember you are worth it!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
