I'm 54 and had my surgery on 1/22/19. My husband is very fit and very active. We used to do outdoor things together but as my weight got bigger my back pain started keeping me from walking or cycling.

  • Do you realize if you haven't grown up by the age of 50, you no longer are Under any obligation to?

Turned 50 last October and got sleeved 2/6. As someone who survived stage 3 breast cancer at age 40, turning 50 was a huge milestone. But it also kinda sucked because I was at 41% BMI and super unh

Age is a number. I had my surgery in August 2016 at age 55. I'm 57 now. I've lost about 150 pounds. I am a nationally ranked fencer in my age group (24th among women 50-59 and 33rd for all women over 40), can deadlift 235 pounds and back squat 225.

What's old? I have more energy than either my 19 or 16 year old daughters. I'm in better shape. I regularly get checked out by people at the gym (especially from behind) who are then a bit surprised when I turn around and they realize I'm not 30. (Although I look pretty good for my age.)

Age is a number. Don't let it define you. the only regret I have is waiting until I was 55 to do this.

Hi Grandma Sue- I'm 73 as of December 26th, an RnY of 4+months, nice to see someone my age on here! We are the Baby Boomers that make life and other things very cool!Welcome, Welcome from Central Ohio and me!

Hi Frustr8, I enjoy C.S. Lewis and love that quote. It's all ice and snow here in Kansas right now. I am 51 and had my RnY bypbypRnYRnYg666h6h6 on 12/10/2018. Have lost around 35llbs since I started out. The inches and clothing fir are A-Mazing! Thank you for your time encouragement.

Feeling too old for this procedure. Anybody out there 50+? Halla back.

I'm 53! My surgery should be late March early April. So I'll be 54 then but my Dr says he has 78 year old patients!!!
Hi, I am new to this entire bariatric surgery. I am due to have my surgery on Feb 25 and will be 52 on Feb 22. Happy Birthday to me. But, can’t wait to live the life I had prior to surgery. Looking forward to talking with you all through this process. Thanks in advance. ?

I did a sleeve at 68. Not looking back! Good luck to you it may a little rough to start but don’t let that part get you down!! The results are worth it. I’m down 45 lbs in 3 months

Good question. I'm 52. I don't feel too old for the surgery since it's never too late to change your life. However, I have noticed that most youtubers are really young, comfort with social media made be a factor, there. I also read that some of the surgeons say that age is one of the determining factors in results. How are you fairing 50+ers. Have your results been as expected? Have any of you reached normal BMI?
