Hey y’all,

First time post, Gastric Sleeve Surgery yesterday 12/13/18. Was told to take Ursidol. Specific instructions to break open pill and add to food. Tried it with chicken broth and could hardly get it down. Awful taste. Any ideas how to take it in that matter?

Thanks

I had to take my reflux meds that way - nasty. I tipped my head back, put one swallow-full of Water in the back of my throat, and poured the meds into the water and swallowed it down - almost like a very small shot. Then rinsed my mouth out with water in case some granules were lurking and would taste bad. Granted, I couldn't do this until a week or so after surgery when I could swallow more than a tablespoon of water.

I think they had me wait until 10 days after surgery to start ursodiol, and I was allowed to take it in capsule form at that time. They let me take prilosec as capsules immediately.

I was allowed to take pills immediately and took all my pills except my Multivitamin horse pill the normal way. I was on Flintstones chewables for a month.

Truth be told I don’t think they even gave me the prescription till one of my post-op appointments.

Ursidol (crushed) was one of the worst parts of this Baritric experience! Once I could include some yogurt in my diet, I would put yogurt on a spoon, sprinkle the ursidol on top, and then try to swallow it as quickly as possible without it touching my tongue, but even that was only partially successful. Once I was 3 weeks out I could swallow it without crushing it, and that was a HUGE day! 😂 hang in there, you’ve got this!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
