2 Days Post Op and Semi Regret My Decision

  • Popular Post
Hello everyone. I had my surgery (sleeve) on Wednesday 11/14 and I’m a total wuss when it comes to pain and discomfort and am regretting it so bad right now. It hurts to drink anything. I’m nauseous. I don’t mind the stomach soreness much (just feel like I did a bunch of ab crunches).

I’m supposed to be drinking my protein shakes but I’m scared to even try lol sucking on the popsicles give me cramps and I know this will “pass” but I keep thinking, what if it doesn’t. I feel stupid for typing this :(

Of course you’re regretting it. You’re sitting in the suck right now! You won’t be very shortly, though, so hang on! It gets so awesome!

I feel you. I had my vsg surgery the day before you (11/13) and I'm missing texture. I'm going crazy at home not doing anything. I've never been the type to netflix binge either. I sat through six episodes of Narcos today before I called it quits. I think I zoned out at episode 3 lol. I get feelings of anxiety and restlessness as I feel stuck in my home. Things will get better for us!

Everything is so uncomfortable! When will the swelling go down :(

I had my VSG on Tuesday Nov 13th and I had an emotional meltdown over "dinner"
My mouth wanted something with texture. I quickly found myself running to the ladies room in tears regretting the whole decision.
HELP!
When will the yuck go away?!

You’ll be just fine! It gets way easier around day 5-7!

Anything makes you feel meh at that stage — get up and move a lot- it helps. Definitely try hot liquids- I couldn’t do cold for a while.

Good luck.

Thank you.
You guys think going back to work 1 week post-op is too soon? I have a desk job so definitely don’t do any strenuous work. I can walk whenever I please, so that’s not a problem.
I didn't have a problem at all but we all heal differently.
Any better @ m8cci_micci33? Don't want anybody sad on this fine autumnal night!

I just finished posting on another thread about being discouraged and still having discomfort and pain when drinking liquids. Thinking maybe I made a mistake having this surgery. Then I see this thread and I read all of the comments and I'm sitting here at 2am smiling and thinking ok maybe not. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone.

You’ll be ok Lu! Give it a couple of weeks and you’ll be saying what a life changing decision it was :)

Try hot liquids! It helped me

I’m doing so much better. However, I had a very bad experience with constipation this morning to the point I almost passed out due to the unbearable pain. I didn’t drink any protein today because I’m so scared of another episode. :(
