I had surgery on 10/31 and I am so dizzy/lightheaded every time I stand up. after my short walks I end up having to lay down for a couple hours before I can even sit upright again. I'm getting about 40-50 ounces of Water and eating 2 of my 3 meals. I also started my Vitamins the other day.

any tips? I really want to be able to build my stamina but I'm not getting anywhere on that front.

Are you on any blood pressure meds? If so, doctor may need to adjust your dosage. Hope you improve soon.

That can contribute to dehydration if it has a diuretic in it. Earlier this year I started taking BP med and lasix, within 2 weeks I ended up in the hospital severely dehydrated and in kidney failure as a result.

You need to be consuming a minimum of 64 oz of Water a day. This is more important than food or Vitamins right now. It is hard because you can only sip a little at a time, so you must carry a bottle of water with you constantly. The biggest risk post-op is dehydration and orthostatic hypotension.

6 weeks out and I still deal with getting light headed or dizzy when I stand up too fast. This never occurred before surgery. I know it has to do with not getting in enough Water and just the low number of calories I'm bringing in

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
