BCBS PPO Options coverage?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys!

I just got insured by my new employer and I have BCBS PPO Options. Have any of you guys been covered with this plan? I’m just in the research phase still, really, since I haven’t had insurance til yesterday lol but honestly, finances scare me more than the actual surgery!

thanks!

Christina B

I think BCBS varies by state. I have it in Rhode Island and the approval was very easy. In fact my doctor’s office told me they are the best. I don’t know about other states though.

I think it depends on the policy your employer agreed to.

I have BCBS PPO and live in Texas. I worked 1:1 with the doctor's office staff whose job it is to check your coverage and handle the prior authorization part. I found it easy.

My advice: If you're in the research phase, check your policy. It can seem intimidating, but you may find what you're looking for by doing a word search for bariatric or weight-loss. Also, a lot of bariatric surgeons offer a free consult. Find one, and get a consult. I can guarantee that they'll have staff on hand to decipher your policy so that you can make a better informed decision.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
