If you have a number to call for after hours concerns...I'd use it. Even if they don't want to send you to the ER, they'll likely want to keep track of this. And they may opt to send you to the ER.

Does not sound like dumping.

Update us when you can. Wishing you the best.

I hate that you are experiencing such unpleasant episode. I disagree about it not sounding like dumping. I'm about 4 weeks out and this sounds very similar to what I experienced. I too thought it came out of nowhere but later found out it was dumping from 2 tortilla chips I ate like 30mins or so before episode started. I walked and walked, I took my gas medicine....pepcid and reglan. Took about 1 to hour to and a half but It FINALLY let up. The dry heaving was the worst.....thought I was going to detach an organ and spit it up. IT WILL PASS, I PROMISE. I agree that it wouldn't hurt to let you doc know though.

:( It could be so many things. Can you keep any fluids down?

For me, it turned out to be severe Constipation and I was so backed up, nothing else would go down! LOL. I had no. idea. Zero. Ideas. Until it happened to me. Very back bowel cramping, but no productivity. Just bad, bad, bad, bowel cramps and hurling up my toes. Only time since surgery I've hurled.

Thanks for the concern. The symptoms actually passed about 10 minutes after I posted and I feel fine now. I plan on sharing the episode with my doctor at my next appointment.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
