Thanks. Have to admit am concerned but am looking forward to better mobility. Years of working in kitchens on cement floors and arthritis have taken their toll. Weight has to come off. Have things to do,places to go lol. Not looking forward to hospital stay. Surgeon says 1 day. Did you have lots of discomfort? Able to get around and function after few days? I know we need to move immediately and walk but how about normal activities. A friend had and made it seem like nothing but she’s a lot younger .

Congrats and good luck! Just keep all those reasons why you wanted the surgery in your mind. You've got this!

I’m 52 (so a bit younger but not too much). I had surgery on 10/10 and my only issues were nausea and heartburn for 4-5 days. Other than that I was fine. I walked the halls in the hospital (slowly at first) with little to no pain and by 1 week I was moving like I did pre-surgery. Good luck!!

My surgery was smooth as silk, and the recovery started out that way. My hospitalization was not the traditional walk in the hall, get rid of the gas, How many times around the nurses station? but you know what? it was still okay, I felt incredibly warm, safe and respected and in its way, it still was a wonderful experience. I would like to call a moratorium on surgery, but I have 2 others staring me in the face.
My stricture should be made better tomorrow, then I can advance my diet, and maybe, get back into the food for my son and me. Once we can have tuna salad, chili, even bean Soup together, my son will be so happy, he hasn't liked Mom on a liquid diet very much , especially for 7 weeks.

YesYes back to Soup and tuna will make you feel back to normal. Eating with family important I think.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
