Hello All! I was sleeved 9/27/18, and feel a bit lost. Are protein shakes considered a meal, or liquid? I’m wondering if I have to wait 30 mins after a protein shake to drink water..?

You don’t have to wait 30 min to drink liquid after liquid. The 30 min will apply to Protein Jello, yogurt, pudding mixes. I’m just a week ahead of you and am figuring it out too.

Good luck!

My nutritionist stated that Protein Shakes should be considered a "meal" and that the 30min no-water before/after rule should still apply to those. I can email her for further information (if people are interested) but I figured it had something to do with making sure you're giving the body time to digest the nutrients from the Protein Shake (instead of rushing it out with Water immediately afterwards.)

Of course, however, Protein shakes are considered a liquid.

Let me know if anyone wants me to email my nutritionist for further information!

because it's a liquid, I don't think you have to. but to get into the habit of following the 30 / 30 rule, I do follow it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
