8 Weeks Post-Op Problems

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm not entirely sure where else to turn to, but I need help.

I genuinely feel garbage since I have not been strictly following my diet plan. I'm down 56lbs since my last visit(1 week ago today), and I understand that I need to follow the nutritionist's plan, and yet I can't for the life of me break some of these terrible habits.

I've never really been one to eat multiple meals throughout the day, I typically wouldn't eat for the day, have one meal, and then that'd be it. Now, I can't do that, obviously, and it is turning into me just not eating, but when I do, it's the wrong thing. I don't eat sweets, in fact, since the surgery my tolerance of sweet things has completely diminished and they make me sick. But I am worried that I am screwing myself up and setting myself up for failure.

What do you guys do to make sure you're staying on track? What should I do? I'm starting to honestly feel like this was a bad idea...

What are you eating and how often?

I'm supposed to eat 3 meals and 2 Snacks. I drink a shake (breakfast) and have lunch and dinner. Some days I might have a snack but usually not.

The trick is to make small changes and keep those changes for 2 weeks minimum before adding more changes. Pick 1 thing that would be an easy change, just 1. And make and stuck to that change.

Then in 2 weeks , that change is now habit. Change something else and keep doing this until you have all those habits adjusted.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
