Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability

  • Popular Post

Hey y'all! Anyone and everyone is welcome to jump in and join us.

This is the Intermittent Fasting DAily Menu/Results/Accountability Thread. It's where a few of us (or many) are going to log in and encourage each other while we experiment with our own IF plans. You can list or talk about anything--not just your food. I look forward to adding in HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and core exercises to my walking plan while practicing IF. So expect to hear about that too. ;) hehe I expect some of us will talk about the known IF side-effects like insomnia, circadian rhythm disturbance, etc. It's all good! Let's hack this IF mofo! mkay? :D

There is not any 1 specific IF plan--there are so many to choose from, so this is a BYOIFP (bring-your-own-IF-plan) and join the fun! This is the thread where we'll post our daily menus and maybe some piccys at times! We can discuss progress, issues we might notice, look at how we may want to refine our own personal plans. I do think you should be healed from surgery and have your doctor's and RD's blessings to try something like this and you should do a ton of research and reading about Intermittent Fasting.

IF isn't only about weight loss, it's about taking specific measures to limit either quantities, calories, macros, or sometimes only consciously altering eating windows/schedules in order to effect metabolic change and reduce inflammation and improve health markers.

Ok, let's do this thang!!!

Gosh we're all so different. LOL! I can do 1 cup of cottage cheese and I'm miserably full. :) But I could have sucked down your P3 and then the pork. But I too feel like I'm cramming too much food into a 4 hour window unless I do a Protein Drink.

You know my cure for Protein Drinks are mocha frappacinos or iced coffee lattes.

Oooh. Might have to get those recipes from you.
I’m willing to give that a shot and see if I like it.

For some reason, even 3 weeks PO (when I actually started eating purées) I could put down a lot of cottage cheese. It’s such a slider for me, which I love bc I can always count on it to bump my protein if I’m having an off day.

Ha! Here it is...the non-recipe! I just fill a large tumbler full of ice. I use these amounts to make 2 drinks. Sometimes I sprinkle in cinnamon and add a few drops of liquid stevia (your favorite flavor but I like chocolate, caramel, and vanilla). My favorites protein drink faves with the decaff coffee are either chocolate or bananas and cream PP ready to drink drinks. But there are other shakes out there that are low carb and low sugar/low cal that are ready to drink that work.

I also like mixing the shakes with iced tea. Love the strawberries and cream and also the peaches and cream with decaf tea. I make a mixture of decaff green and decaff black tea and make it just like I do the iced coffee.

I just take 1/2 a bottle of PP and 6-8oz of decaff plus any spice or sweetener and mix it with lots of ice. Or, I put it in a blender and blend with ice until it's the consistency that I like. It's a non-recipe really. And at the end of the two drinks (which go down very easily for me, I've got my 30g of protein in).

OK, no more dic*in' around with BDG goal! I'm doing this thang!!! I've been dinking around with the same 5 lbs for what seems like forever!!! I was supposed to have reached Goal 3 (130lbs) already and instead? I'm still mired in the moment--in the "feel good", "just be gentle with yourself" dic*ass mode! I've lost sight of my big picture and I'm not gonna tolerate it any longer!

Yesterday was my 18month surgiversary and I weighed in at 135.4lbs. This morning I'm at 135.2lbs even though I know I've got at least a pound of poopy cued for exit thanks to MOM. (Edited to report, I weigh 134.8lbs PP ;) )

Tomorrow is my surgeon visit to follow up on the hernia repair and also for my 18 month check up and I wanted to be at Goal #3. Instead I'm a whiny bi*ch ass 5lbs up from there. So I raised the visual stakes and I'm gonna try to move some dollah dollah bills baby!

This is ten ones and each pound I lose will go in the LOST jar! I will succeed in this. I just have to change up the tactics.

Today I'm going for an 18:6 and will do a DD (500 cals and 60g protein).

Whoop!!
I love the complete badass ‘tude!

You’ll get there sister! Just stay focused and angry about it.
Lol, in 2006 I quit smoking cold turkey after having been a smoker for 15 years. When people asked me what my secret was, my answer was that I finally got pissed off enough to stick to it and conquer it.

Looking back, the same thing is what led me to WLS. I finally got sick and tired of the unhealthy aspects of being MO, and it freaking made me so ANGRY that I pulled the trigger.

Well.... I haven’t had a single cigarette in over 13 years and I damn sure don’t ever plan on having one again ever. I plan to treat MO the same way. I’ll die kicking and screaming before I ever go back to that.

Okay. So I’m here to post results of my 3 day playing around with more aggressive IF.

I started with a 1.6 pound bounce from 170.8 to 172.4 (8-11, 8-18). That bounce really sucked bc from July 26-August 11th I had lost from 179, and I was finally finally on track to lose 10 pounds in a month.

Well I’m happy to say that I got on the scale this morning (no poop in over a day now) and I’m at 169.0. Broke through the 170’s and finally have that 10 pound month. Woot!

Hi guys!

So I had my 18month surgiversary this morning and things were great -- until my surgeon sat forward a little and told me that she needed to talk to me about a bone density test and asked if I was being followed. I asked why and she said, "It looks like you've lost more weight..." And she had a concerned expression on her face.

I told her I was within 1lb of where I was at our last office visit but that I hoped I'd replaced some of the fat with muscle. And her expression was "concerned." I told her that I was eating...and so we discussed that she REALLY is not in favor of me losing any more--that as many of you guys have said (and studies show) that there isn't any advantage to losing more weight from where I am.

I reminded her again of my Goal #3 (only 4lbs away...yes, I have the first dollar in the LOST jar people) and she said that 5lbs wouldn't make or break me, but that I needed to give up on the BDG goal, cuz she didn't think it would be healthy for me.

And I asked her if she thought I looked gaunt or unhealthy and she just paused and looked at me with a regretful face and slightly shook her head. Like she didn't want to say anything to hurt my feelings. But like, "Bi*ch, you're looking old and worn out!"

And man. It's totally messin' with my mind. Cuz I don't want to stop at 134lbs. I want to stop at 130lbs. And I just don't see how or where I'm looking gaunt?

Dilemmas in Weight Loss Land! :( First time evs a doc has had "the weight talk" with me and it was about being too thin. I thought that was one of life's myths? That you can never be too thin or too rich?

And what about the 10-15lb rebound that I'm terrified of succumbing to in year 3? *big gulp*

(Oh and I'm getting a DEXA body analyser scan for my birthday next month.)

Been doing some IF the past week or so. I figured I'd take advantage of a pretty quiet week social and professionally to get some IF benefits in.

Going to try to do OMAD, sorta, today. Doing a food fest this evening, so it will be a drawn out OM, but better than nothing.

Weird thing is, despite averaging 1K less calories a day or so the last 1.5 weeks, the scale keeps bouncing around in the same range. Not necessarily trying to lose more, but wanted to give myself some wiggle room, since I have a packed social and work schedule that will be calorie heavy.

WTG! See? To me that's the awesomeness of IF and OMAD. Like our anatomy, it's a tool you use when you use it properly. :D I think being pro-active and planning for heavier meal days is what naturally thin people do? They just do automatically.

Maybe it's just your body hanging on to water from the empty fat cells and that you will have a "whoosh" in a couple of days and lose it? How many cals are you eating? Do you know your macros?

And gimme some food porn. Tell me of your OM meal tonight?

Hugs @FluffyChix ... I know that is not what you were hoping to hear today! ?

"she said that 5lbs wouldn't make or break me, but that I needed to give up on the BDG goal, cuz she didn't think it would be healthy for me"

I think what you should keep in mind if your surgeon has your well being as her priority. She doesn't have dysmorphic glasses, or BDG blinders on. She;s as close to unbiased as you can get.

"And what about the 10-15lb rebound that I'm terrified of succumbing to in year 3? *big gulp*"

First, it's not inevitable, anymore than only losing 60-70% excess body weight post WLS is. Second, if you do have a bounce, it will be ok :). You can be perfectly healthy, attractive, active, and feel great at a point or two higher on the BMI scale. I believe there is actually a study or two saying as women age it might be beneficial to be closer to the top end of a healthy BMI.

In my mind the question for you is ... what will you replace your BDG goal with? From everything I know about you, you need a purpose. Your drive is admirable (and a little frightening). There are so many areas you can focus your energy on, so you can be a healthier FC, than you would even be at your BDG weight.

@sillykitty I need to run and start dinner right now, but want you to know I'm thinking of your very thoughtful reply! I will respond in the morning! Have a blast tonight!!! Wooot!!! (and of course, you are right...just need to ponder!)

Have to admit I'm white knuckling the OMAD thing today. Only my stubbornness is getting me through!

So last ten days I've averaged about 1550 cal/day, the previous 30 before that I was around 2300 cal/day. Over the last 10 days my protein has averaged 52 g/day, I won't tell you my carbs, cause you might keel over ?

Not sure if I'll get a whoosh, or what exactly is going on. Up until today it hasn't been a challenge to IF or scale back the cals. So I'm more curious than frustrated by it.

Tonight is a type of "Taste of" event. There are about 40 restaurants participating. I know all the stuff I want to eat tonight, but small portion of my wish list is realistic. I definitely plan on a duck meatball, and something from my favorite bakery though!

Ok, "ralking", then coffee and back to answer your post!

Good Day all! I still IF every day! Really don't know how I didn't do this before! It just feels so natural now.

Floating between 185 and 190, still right around 18% body fat. But I can wear a medium shirt and a 33 waist

Had a bunch of challenges, but I'm working through them.
