So I went out with a friend and we ate a Pizookie together, I'm going to pay for it later... Lol

It was too sweet, too rich, too many calories. More restaurants need diabetic friendly Desserts. I'm glad it was the only thing I tried. It's like 1000000000 cals per square inch

Interesting re stress. I have a job that can be stressful indeed. High media profile, 1000 employees, and some regulatory roles where we stop people doing stuff sometimes.

I was perusing through my iPhone ‘health’ app (linked to my watch) and noted something.

I have a low resting heart rate nowadays. This weekend, 51 or 52 bpm. But last week, 63-66 each day. Last weekend, 50, 52. And the pattern is consistent. About 10-15 bpm higher on workdays. I checked out three recent days I knew had large stressful events. 71, 71, 69. And that is averaged across 18 hours...

I haven’t checked weight correlation - but I eat differently in the weekend!

Hi all! Hope you had a great weekend! I'm back! I ate ALL. THE. THINGS. at WurstFest and had a couple sips of beer--meh. Not so interested in it. I'm up to 152.8lbs this morning but not worried. It's mostly fluid--and a lot of that is in my lymphedema arm. It always happens when I travel, even though I use a compression sleeve. It will drain and I will be back to my low within a week.

I'm doing a 24 hour OMAD today, maybe will even consider going for a 36hour. Will see how it goes and if I'm a starvin fool today--after eating so much and so many more carbs this weekend. I'm so carb sensitive. Ugh. Still! :( Oh well--lucky for me, I can take em or leave em without angst. I am OBSCENELY happy to be back in my own environment, on my own schedule with my happy belly food. I can't wait for one of my huge salads, and also sauteed greens and mushies--and maybe a hunk of salmon, chicken, or turkey! Wish I beef still loved me. But I still have dreams that one day we will learn to play well together!

@redhead_che Congrats on goal girl!! And so quickly! Man to be young and have your darling figure! Your bikini inspires this old crone to dream big! I just don't know where I would tuck and hide all my skin! LOL.

@FluffyChix, this fasting plan has actually helped me get to 124 already! I cannot believe I read this thread for so long without jumping in and trying it. I'm just going to keep riding the wave and see where it takes me!

IKR!!! In the grocery store I would sport a flaming red bikini with maybe like a faux full length mink (cuz I always freeze my ass off in our HEB, no matter how fuc*ing hot it is outside!)

That is Fantastic! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉The best news is it can also be a safe and effective maintenance tool. No slippery slopes because you'll know exactly what to do!!

It has dawned on me that I have lost only about 20ish lbs since I started IF, that may not seem like a lot but it was 20ish more than I would have because my other health conditions and meds were trying to hold me back. I digress. But the physical change is vastly different. I swear it dredged pure fat out of me. so screw the scale, here's the pics

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
