@GreenTealael OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG! I'm so happy I know how to ping you! Thank you @sillykitty for showing me!

Feel better sweetie!!! I will say, dayum, you sure cook purty food when you're sick!! I would so eat ALL of that! What's your Soup and chicken?

@sillykitty Your day sounds delish! Love Korean/Vietnamese/many diff Chinese regional cuisines/Japanese/allthingsAsian :) #gimmealltheasianfood! Wow on the $30. No doggie bags I guess with AYCE :( I guess I would have had to stay all dayum day and focus on the expensive items--crab, lobster, shrimp, sea scallops, tenderloin, etc. :) Good that you met all your protein/fluid goals! Yeeehawww!

@mattz I really admire your resolve and fortitude about not eating after 6pm. I'd love to be able to work toward that--especially since I do get up early like you. But Mr. F. is rarely home before 6 and def isn't ready to eat at that time. I'll have to talk to him about that schedule and see if we can work towards it. I know eating at 8pm is slowing me down. :(

Where are all our other peeps who are working IF plans??? Come out, come out wherever you are!!! :D

Ok, so yesterday turned out to be a craptastic day for me as well. What I intended to be a medium day 750cals -- so i could switch out my UD/DD rotation (MD=average of an UD and DD=(UD+DD)/2) ended up being an UD over 1000cals. Gah! I have so much difficulty from Friday night through Saturday and then Sunday I finally return to the flock. Well flock me!!!

I should also mention that I had tons of fatty cheese and even butter as well as pita chips and got so sick again. Ugh. Honestly, it's crazy that I know by now I will feel very bad after eating stuff like this, so why do I still do it, knowing what will happen? I feel as if I'm rebelling and that began about the end of the 4th or beginning of the 5th month. (Oh I hear all you "I told you so-ers out there." But I'm still in adjustment mode about this. It has not vanquished me by a long shot. I WILL succeed over these urges and reign supreme in my own shell. LOL.)

So in the spirit of honesty and openness, I will post my craptastic UD as well as the good DDs and perfect UDs. LOL. At least I walked like cray yesterday!

Here are the foods I photo'd: my cobbled together lunch on Friday of l/o grilled chickie boob + 1/4 of the egg foo young (HM). And then my l/o grilled chicken avo tom lettuce wrap with carrots.

I think as long as you have more good days than craptastic days, it balances out...

Thanks! @FluffyChix the chicken was meal prepped a week ago and frozen( BBQ style on food before and after thread), I blanched broccoli normandy and that's all. For the Soup I just added the chicken, vegetables and Water. Instant soup! @sillykitty I can't imagine spending that much and not sneaking food out in a Ziploc in my purse 😂😂😂😂😂

That's what I'm hoping! :) So far I'm down 3.6lbs from last Monday weigh in but it's unofficial. :) Of course, most if not all of that is probably just Water weight-cuz I'm still 0.4lbs up from my low weight of 262.6lbs. Today I'm doing a DD! And so far am still semi-fasting. :) I've had 4.5oz of PP in decaff over 4 hours. So very slow addition of those cals. :) I'm hoping tomorrow will bring a new low!

Meh, your craptastic day is amateur hour compared to some of mine @FluffyChix

I mean you made good choices for half he day before it all went to hell and the craving monster took over. But you still only had 1100 cals, and got a good amount of Protein. Could have been a lot worse!

I know that my goal is to eat much healthier, on the whole, not necessarily every day, I also keep in mind that 1 day or 2 or 12 isn't going to wreck anything. I'm still marching towards my goal, just sometime I take a Detour. I just know I have to get back on track.

True dat. Marchin' toward the finish! Oh and thank you for the re-assurance!!!

(Oh and also, not every entry is totally accurate. For instance the place where we had the flatbread pizza doesn't have the nutrition listed in MFP and I'm too lazy to go manually make a flatbread and save it. So to be simple, I just think the PH flatbread is probably pretty close to things and probably over. So I just find foods that are as close to the composite meal that I can and if I have to add extra items, to that listing then I do--and it's way easier than inputting it from scratch. LOL. Pizza Hut and I broke up many many many moons ago! ;)

And like the spinach dip, I've no idea if I actually ate 6Tbsp--probably not, cuz the serving was only like a 1/2c serving and I didn't eat 1/2 of that...so I'm trying to over-estimate rather than "think" I'm eating less. You know?

Ha ha, I know, my dining partner and I just gulped when we realized the price, especially considering she doesn't eat much either. But I got as much for my money as possible, eating wagyu (or so they said ), ribeye, lamb and shrimp. My dining partner ate mostly chicken and carrots

But yeah, paper thin sliced raw meat and head on raw shrimp isn't the most bag it and sneak it out friendly food

@FluffyChix I'm with you on the inaccuracy and overestimating. I do the exact same thing. I'd rather err on he side of over estimating calories and serving sizes, than lying to myself that I did better than I actually did.

Today I will most likely be able to do IF. I'm golfing this afternoon, and then have late lunch plans after, so that will be my first meal. We'll see how the rest of the day goes after that

Woohooo! Despite some less-than-great choices, this was a pretty good week for IF from a weight perspective. Won't know the true value until I measure in about another week+ because I believe the measuring tape more accurately tracks fat loss or fat/muscle equilibrium. :) I'm very satisfied with these results and look forward to doing more of it. (Of course, I think most of this is Water weight, but I'd be happy with a couple of those pounds being actual fat loss!)

Yesterday was fairly on-track despite the cravings! Damn! I wanted serious shenanigans in the form of pita chips and cheese! Gosh is that monster strong-willed. I thought I'd perhaps snuffed him out over the past few months--but I think once a carb monkey, always a carb monkey and the only way to keep it at bay is to stay low carb (and keep the mother trucker out of my house)!! I would have liked better macros (more Protein to meet my 74g goal and less fat grams).

Yesterdays food was yummy. Two meals + PP coffee + Bacon (1/4 piece) :)

B1/B2: Protein Coffee

L: shrimp and chicken taco salad sans chips

Oh, I forgot to add, it's going to be a crazy week with quite a few networking demands for business which means nights out with dinner/drinks. Then my birthday celebration Sunday night and next Monday. Whanh whanh whanh...it's easy to be good in a vacuum. Not so easy to be good when living life out with others. Super duper nervous about this!

So I'm gonna do as many DDs as possible on the "off days". The JUDDDD research shows that you can go about 3 days without tanking your metabolism being calorie restricted. So I'm going to go for back-to-back DDs again and another one on Wednesday--then will try to have a Saturday DD. (that will be a challenge for sure).

DD/UD Rotation for the week:
Sun-M-W-Sat - DDs (500 cals)

Tue-Thur-F - UD (1000+ cals)

I completely understand! ((hugs)) Congrats on still being down 0.5lbs today! I don't get how we can be totally rational hbs, sticking to our plan during the week--then completely lose it by Friday night. Or at least that seems to be my pattern. I gotta get more boring peeps--it's all their fault. Right? ;) hehe. Anyways. Today is a brand new day!!! Have a good one Matt!

@Matt Z One of the things about IF is you don't need to do it everyday. I like that if I can't do it a day, or 2 or 3, that' ok, and it's not a failure

@FluffyChix Whoo hoo! Congrats on the 5 lb loss. That's HUGE at the point, so close to goal! Good job controlling the craving monster, that always feels like a victory to me, no matter what the scale says.

Ugh, I feel you on this. This is my life. At home it's easier to behave. But put me in front of a menu and I'm ordering a pimento cheese sandwich instead of the grilled chicken salad every time.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

Good Luck this procedure is well worth it I am down to 249.6 lb please continue with the process..

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

      3. Doughgurl

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

    • LeighaTR

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
