Home from the hospital

So my bypass surgery was on 8/28. Everything went well I woke up in the worst pain. Luckily they gave me a pain pump. I just had to remember to push it. Lol I asked everyone what to expect and still wasn’t prepared for the pain. Walking is very tiresome and talk about drinking these liquids is difficult. Sipping every 15 minutes seem impossible. But I’m not hungry. I’m able to pas gas and burping since day 2 but no BM (sorry TMI). Also my period came down super early wasn’t expecting to be bleeding from two areas?? right now. I’m only sleeping for about 4/5 hours wake up, walk, bathroom, check drain then sip and surf the internet til i fall back to sleep. This has been difficult but I’m so happy i got it done i can’t wait to be fully healed and can get back to my normal life. Anyone waiting your day. It’s ok to be scared, i wouldn’t have known i had surgery had it not been for the pain I felt like i woke up soon as they put me to sleep lol. Your going to regret it at first but keep pushing through! Ps if you stopped taking the pain meds after day 1 and didn’t need help once you got home your a champ! I came and stayed at my moms and my little cousin has been a lifesaver. Also it has helped having a surgery twin and literally talking everyday and sharing experiences. Good luck to those who have upcoming surgeries, speedy recovery and I’m officially on the loser bench.

  • Woohoo, well done on making it to the loser bench! Should only be a few more days and you will be feeling a bit more like yourself.

  • Congrats! It definitely gets more normal and like you didn’t have surgery after day 5 :)
