Honeymoon period

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery on February 7th 2018, I am almost 7 month post op and just curious about when this honeymoon phase will end. Does anybody remember what month they were in when their loss began too slow, stop, or become a lot harder.

It varies from person to person but my surgeon said he would expect me to lose the majority of my excess weight within the first year!

honeymoon period is considered the first 6 months, I believe. I will be 4 months in a week and I am noticing a little bit of a slow down. I lost 28 pounds my first month, than 15 pounds a month for two and three. Looks like it will only be 10 pounds for month four.

For me, at about 5 months post op it started to become a struggle. Sometimes I wonder if it has less to do with the time and more to do with how much weight you've lost thus far.

The amount you lose and how long you lose isn't time based, sure there are averages, but the factors that play into this are many.
How overweight you started at, why you were overweight in the first place, genetics, etc etc etc.

If my honeymoon period is winding down now I'm seriously going to punch a ho! I'm 60 pounds from goal and kicking my own butt and only 4.5 months! I've only lost like 5 pounds or less last month!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
