John Oldham - Baptist Bariatric - Louisville

Recommended Posts

I can't say enough good things about my surgical experience with Baptist Bariatrics in Louisville. The process was simple, supportive, and my surgeon, John Oldham, is awesome. My recovery was extremely well managed and I felt so good that I even refused IV pain meds while in the hospital. He is extremely proactive in making sure that his patients are exposed to as little risk as possible. My labs have been great, and I haven't thrown up once. At almost two months post-op, I am already able to fulfill all my nutritional needs without Protein supplements. My weight loss has been slow, but I think that's probably good. My energy levels are comparable to pre-op.

Highly recommend!

Thanks for posting about your experience with Dr. Oldham. I'm just starting the process - attended the seminar last night. I'm excited, anxious and all of the other emotions! Turned in my paperwork and waiting for my phone call! :)

I was at that seminar! Did you get called for the all day intake appointment yet? I’m so happy to read all this positive stuff about Dr. Oldham. He seemed like he really cared.

Are there any support groups there? I had mine at Baptist Lexington and even though I’ve been really pleased, there are little to no support groups available. I’m closer to Lex but would consider driving to Louisville for one.

Yes, from what I remember from the info seminar there is a support group....from my notes it's the 3rd Thursday of every month.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
