Acid Reflux / Heart Burn is excessively common with the sleeve. Issues with medication aren't unheard of either, esp only 3 weeks out of surgery. Have you called and spoken with your surgical team about these issues yet?

I have spoken with the Bariatric Nurse and I am waiting on a prescription to address the present situation. Let’s hope this one works

Thanks

Good luck!

I'm having the same problem. I'm also 3 weeks post op and i'm nauseous every day, all day. I cant stand taking my Vitamins, I usually throw them up soon after. I was prescribed reglan which has helped a little with vomiting but not with nausea. Good luck!

I switched to Tespo bariatric Vitamins. It’s a very fine powder you mix with Water or juice and it’s been the only vitamins I can keep down. Maybe a Vitamin you can mix like this one or a liquid would be easier for you to keep down? Hope it gets better for you both.

Tomorrow is 10 weeks post op for me and I had a bad sick day yesterday with nausea and just feeling ill. This was my fault as I know that I cannot tolerate coffee with skim milk. It is the milk and not the coffee. I also still have a hard time taking meds/vitamins. Everyone says it will get better. Today is a much better day so you have to know that it does eventually get better.

I have switched to almond milk lattes. They don't upset my stomach. I also found if I eat more quickly I am nauseous. If I eat very slowly, I don't get sick. I make sure to take my Vitamins (barimelts are my favorite) right after I eat so I'm not taking them on an empty stomach.

I feel like I've been on some sort of "trial run" of Vitamins since my surgery because they seem to cause such severe nausea that I can't function well. Thankfully, no vomiting, but I just feel like cr*p after I take some of them. You didn't list your meds, but it could be as simple as your vitamins causing the nausea.

Heartburn: sleeved patients have a higher incidence of heartburn. I started getting it about 3 or 4 weeks post op. I take Nexium and that seems to keep it controlled.

Talk to your doctor about both issues.

When you get to the point where you can swallow pills again, you may want to consider a capsule vs a chewable. I take ProCare Health 1x per day tablet with Iron. With chewables, you have to take multiple times per day. Whereas, I take this at night, only one capsule. Its just like prenatal Vitamins, where they recommend to take at night, if it causes nausea. I take my calcium/vitamin d tabs in the AM.

I used to take the ProCare Multivitamin with Iron chewable, but it was messing with me big time. I would chew the tablet and then within minutes start sneezing. One time, the sneezing stopped and I threw up the Vitamin.

I have purchased the same in capsule form. Will start taking that on Wednesday when I am cleared for capsules.

Most other pills, Depakote, Lisinopril and Atorvastatin, go down fine. Depakote burns sometimes so I have to eat cottage cheese or something.

Do you like this Vitamin? I thought about getting it but I lot of people said it tasted bad and they had trouble swallowing it? I'm curious as you your findings? I'm vitamin hopping at the moment cuz I can't find ones that work and I don't want to be taking 10 pills a day.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
