I’m about 12 days post op and have been doing okay. However, tonight, I was just sitting on the couch and got up to take my Jello bowl to the kitchen - I’d only been sitting for about 45 minutes - and got so dizzy that I had to call my husband from the other room because I thought I was going to pass out. It passed but it really just freaked me out.

I have been getting my fluids in, I thought, but could this be a sign of being dehydrated? Or something else? It’s really got me a bit nervous.

I am not a dr but yes dehydration can make you dizzy. Try getting some electrolytes in Gatorade G2 or hydration tablets to put in your drinks. Low on that can cause low BP. If it continues call your Dr. Take care hun

I had this issue in the early days after bariatric surgery. Make sure you take care when you stand up; wait a little bit before moving so your body can correct its low blood pressure. My doctor also recommended regular Gatorade,, not the sugar-free G2 version, as it has better hydration properties. But the main tip is to get in more than 64 oz of fluids a day - this is your #1 job after surgery and is more important than food. Good luck!

Thank you! I’m feeling better today! I’m working on getting more Protein in (the Protein Shakes have been hard to get down but I am seriously working on it) and I’m going to try to get more Water and broth in. I tried calling the doctor on call last night but apparently, they hung up on me. 😂 I will call the office in the morning, though.

My goal is to get more than 64 Oz in today. I appreciate the advice!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
