Had my surgeon check in today and it went great I’ve lost 28% of my excess weight. He said I’m on target with my weight loss and can move to the next level of exercise. I’m now cleared to do light weights and up my cardio to jogging/cycling.

Sadly the reflux has returned so he has given me a prescription for that, if it continues post 3 years I may need another ‘stich’ To resolve it.

he did say food choices and slower eating habits may resolve it. I think this is the cause as I do struggle with eating slower and chewing properly. Hopefully when I see him again in 12 weeks I’ll be eating and chewing slower and better.

i still am able to drink a lot of water which is awesome.

I can only consume small food portions before I get full, so I focus on healthy protein and vegetables. My desert is always sugar free high protein or fresh fruits. Fruit does have sugar, but I limit myself to 6 berries so am within my 800 calories

So I had surgery July 2nd. Everything is trucking along but now, I get incredibly belchy while eat my liquid meals. And, I think I’ve fallen victim to the 3 week stall. In fact, my weight went up a half pound between today and yesterday and a half pound between Monday and Tuesday. Yeah, I don’t really have a question, just wallowing in my own self pity.

I also had surgery on the second. Dropped 0.4 lbs when I checked on Tuesday from the previous week. Was pretty down about it. We just have to stay focused.

I am also experiencing the belchy issue.

I’m 3 days post op and feeling pretty good!

Good for you @Chunkysoup Hope you continue to have a great recovery!!!

I am 4 days post op. Struggling to get all my liquids in and making a good effort with the protein shakes. I’m mostly focusing on liquids.

I am still quite sore am taking lortab elixir every 4 hours. I’ve got some children’s Tylenol I’m trying to work in to get off the lortab. But the children’s Tylenol is so sweet it’s gross tasting.

Most of my pain is gas/bloating but I’ve also started to have a lot of back pain. I think the back pain is due to overcompensating for my now injured abdominal muscles.

I’ve yet to feel hungry or any of that- so drinking and consuming protein takes some real effort.

I’m still using my incentive spirometer, as I had some low o2 issues while I was in the hospital.

When I got out of the hospital, I weighed 11lbs more than when I went in. I’m now down about 4lbs.

Can’t wait for the soreness to go away so I can start working out again!

@insta_adventurer Congrats on your successful surgery. Take it easy and take it slow.

Could not getting protein be causing slow weight loss? And idk if it’s slow really but it sure feels like it lol. Left the hospital July 2nd at 245 (gained 4 lbs from fluids swelling etc) , 229.8 today.

Mine was July 5 and I’ve lost about 15 lbs, so close to you. It would have taken me 3 months to lose that pre op so I’m happy ?. Everyone is different and it’s not a race, just stay the course.

Excited for everyone’s weight loss. Getting in enough protein and liquids really helps. And exercise. I have lost about 13 pounds since June 29; disappointing to me. But I also had to deal w GERD w really set me back. Better now. And more determined

How was the GERD set you back?

Had my surgery 6/20 and I’m 4 1/2 weeks post gastric bypass. I’m on soft, fish, soft veggies stage.

The hardest part currently is vitamins and liquid requirements. Protein for me is easy to get in.

I hit my 50pound loss mark though today I’m excited about. Now on to my next 50 goal.

I must admit it was not as dramatic as I was looking for. I personally look at a picture right before surgery and one today I don’t see a change.

So, I had surgery on the 12th. I came home on the 14th. I am sore, of course but, I’ve noticed this afternoon, an almost pulling like sensation where my stomach meets my esophagus. It doesn’t really feel like heartburn, more of a soreness in there. When I eat and drink I can feel it. I’m wondering if it’s my staple line? Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I had the some thing. I actually thought I pulledng a muscle, according to the nurse I talked to. Went in for my two week post op with surgeon and he said I pulled an internal stitch. He actually told me to take Alieve for the pain (big no no in post op world)) but working. Good luck and hope you get relief soon.
