Has anyone had this happen? If I’m eating slowly and I get full, I don’t notice it at first but I put the next bite in my mouth and start chewing and then all of a sudden I start gagging before I even swallow it’s like my mouth realizes I’m about to eat too much and I can’t physically eat it at all...

I think it’s very important to have your meal time last for 20 minutes and chew, chew chew. Allow 30 seconds between swallowing. You want to be very mindful to stop eating when your hunger is satisfied not when you feel full. It is my understanding from my dietician this is the goal. Your brain also needs to have time to register you are full.

I’m getting better at this, but I’m also trying to break a habit I’ve had since I was little—I grew up stealing food or going hungry so it was eat as fast as possible, I never got past that. I’m trying every day.

Well I am awake again, these days are not the life I booked for. My pouch is not behaving , I am tired of Soups, broths, Protein Shakes, isn't it sad when you look forward to the sugar free popsicles? I am losing weight, Hurray for that, but still facing a visit to My Surgeon Tuesday and an Exploratory EGD to find out why Precious doesn't like thicker puree. Shouldn't she be accepting them? 4 weeks yesterday, a month tomorrow. And my living situation is not cool. Don't know how things are going to end. Think I have a case of the What Next and the Blahs at the same times Well take my Zofran, Ditropan and Wellbutrin with a sip of Water, then if things cool go get a Protein Shake and the day begins. Down below 300,pound pounds but almost wish I had my Lovenox back, then I felt like a participant in Life. Maybe, just maybe, something good will happen in my life.

So just got off my first shift back from surgery. 9 hours and 45 minutes on my feet. Made a billion pizzas, didn’t have any issue with it. And I cleaned the whole store.

Awww.. I’m sorry things aren’t going well at the moment. I noticed you said you take Wellbutrin and are having a bit of the blahs... I take Wellbutrin as well and had to switch from extended release to regular release post surgery. My surgeon said that not enough of the extended release would get absorbed.

Also- if you are taking the regular release, it could be keeping you awake at night if you’re taking it too late in the day. I have to take my second dose before 2pm or I won’t be able to sleep at night.

Hoping the EGD leads to some answers for you! I’ll be thinking about ya!

Sassy probiotics are super important for those of us who have messed with our guts. There are studies apon studies saying they’re good for us. I personally use the ones from plexus in conjunction with their biocleanse because the biocleanse helps things move along and is safe long term while laxatives aren’t. So my biocleanse keeps it clear and my probiotic keeps it healthy. I can get you more info on that if you want :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
