My doctor put me on the liquid diet for 4 weeks after my surgery. I’m on week 3 and these dang Protein Shakes aren’t cutting it. So I cheated and started my purée diet. Has anyone else done this or currently dealing with this. If so what do you eat and do?

Honestly, yes. I was 15 days post op and still doing Premier Protein or broth. I have a physical job nd was feeling sick not getting something solid. I started to add 4 oz of puréed Soups with a tbsp. Of Greek yogurt. I tolerated it well and if anything noticed that I need to slow down when I eat. I stayed full longer and had more energy. Today I’m 18 days post op and I have introduced Cottage cheese and egg.

Hiya

Every surgeon has a different plan. No one is the only way. I was eating solids (chicken, fish) before I left hospital!!

That said, keep an eye on this period is my real advice. Part of the reason for a plan is to force you to change your eating habits. You haven’t gone through all this to get derailed, right??!! So just keep a good food diary, like in MyFitnessPal or similar, and keep an eye out for staying in the new eating groove that leads to long-term success...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
