How long after surgery before I can swim or take a bath? I hoping week 2 I can get in the pool or go to the ocean for a swim.

Usually it is once the incisions have healed over, which is typically 3 weeks; I still have a bit of weeping from one of them so it was more like 4 weeks for me

Same here, no swimming until the incisions have closed. Was able to take a shower straight out of the hospital, no restrictions on that.

You are not going to want to make this call on your own, wait until your surgeon/surgical team gives you the thumbs up. The "rule" is when your incisions are healed up enough that they won't pop up when they get saturated and soaked with Water, typically it's 4 weeks. But again, let your team tell you when you are cleared or you can end up much worse off.

I was told 2 weeks. Which i really hope is true. I am approaching that mark now. My incisions look good to me and i see my doctor/surgeon tomorrow so i hope i get the go ahead.

but i would check with them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
