Does everyone get Hiccups after eating? I’m a little past 3 weeks (May 7 surgery) and it seems to be happening a little less. Should I expect this forever?

OMG yessss! It's kind of between a burp and hiccup which is completely embarrassing. It can get annoying as it makes me feel like I have something stuck in my chest!

I didn't get hiccups after eating, but I did them them after drinking at first. That lasted maybe 4-5 days or so. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't think that would last forever. Are you on the liquid phase still, or have you switched to pureed foods? I would think it's happening because you're getting air into your stomach somehow; that's what mine was, anyways.

I get them after every meal. The only way to get rid of them is to have a few sips of Water.

I’m on soft foods. It seems to come and go. Maybe I’m drinking too close meals? I’ll have to gauge it.

I am 7 weeks post op. I often get 1 hiccup when I've reached "full" at end of a meal. But last night I had full blown hiccups for about 30 min. Not sure exactly what caused it. I was also suffering from slime, so I may have eaten a little too much, or didn't chew well enough.

I've been having them off and on for a short period after drinking. I'm still on full-liquid phase. guess its air being taken in with my drink.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
