I only have one tattoo...a tiny wolf on the back of my thigh howling up at "the full moon" :)

I'm not an ink person, but I let my daughter's bestie do it, she's an intern tattoo artist and needed work for her portfolio:) She did a beautiful job.

I have a few tattoos, and am planning a new one for after surgery (in June). I have one of those fat pads on my upper back, just under the neck... that will likely be the first area of fat to go adios, so I’m planning a large tattoo there to Celebrate.

I already have multiple tattoos but I do not plan on getting a tattoo to signify my weight loss. Only for fear if I gained it back lol.

Yes! I would like a foot tattoo of a molting snake to commemorate my adventure. I have an inspiration photo from google that is somewhat loosely similar to what I would like the artist to design - particularly the intertwining and the white, lacy molted skin. But I'd like a much more colorful snake and obviously the size and shape of the two snakes would have to be fit to the top of my foot. I really prefer to let the artist take over as much as possible, I feel my pieces are truly unique and a sort of bond of trust between me and the artist. I know most people are way too a-n-a-l (sorry, trying to avoid filters haha) and want to control what it looks like which I totally understand, cause it's going to be on your body forever, after all! But anyway, yes, I definitely want a tattoo in honor of this huge life change.

I am 53 years old, no tattoos yet but I am considering getting one as part of this journey. I am thinking of the symbol for new beginnings. I’ll add it to my comment if I can figure out how to do it lol

I’m thinking a Phoenix tattoo.

I never got a tattoo because I always wanted to lose weight, and thought my skin would be saggy and it would ruin it. Also, placement is harder when you are overweight. So now, I def want to get one. I don't know if it will be to signify my WLS journey, but I will always know it wouldn't have been possible without it.

Me too, I think I would like, one of those. Maybe on the inside of my left wrist or forearm where I can see it myself and Celebrate what I have been through!

How cool would it be if that Phoenix tat became nationally recognized symbol of wls. We could ID each other in society!

I'm getting a tattoo of Arwen's necklace from Lord of the Rings. Always been a huge fan of the series and loved the story of her choosing her life path despite what others wanted her to do kind of like what I'm doing now. :)

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
