Is it possible? Everything says that they prefer to repair post WLS (do to possible infection from surgical mesh).

Been there & was told it would be better to lose 100 pounds as I had my gallbladder removed years ago which is the cause of two hernia repairs at the incision site. I never want this surgery again! It was far more painful than my sleeve which compared to hernia surgery was a walk in the park. So soon I will be having my 3rd hernia repair as a result of gallbladder surgery & mesh trimmed to fit which was obviously trimmed a bit to much!

VSG is normally done before an abdominal hernia, as the hernia is easier safer and superiorly repaired after the weight loss

That's good to know.......the medical staff has indicated they can repair the hiatal hernia during bariatric surgery, but nothing was mentioned about the abdominal one. I hope to be able to get a Tummy Tuck once my weight has stabilized, I've heard they can combine it with a hernia repair. My only issue with waiting is it's uncomfortable to even try situps, it doesn't feel right!

A lot of surgeons will bill for hernia repairs and do the others. Sad, but with the sneaky-type insurances we have in USA , one has to beat them at their own game!😷📆😝

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
