Is There Such Thing as Sugar-free applesauce?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking high and low. My weight loss office said I can't have no more than 6g of sugar to avoid dumping syndrome.... Because other applesauce I see is no sugar added or unsweetened....but still has sugar when I read the labels.....can someone help me out here.... Even seeing recipes to make me own....

I don't think so, because in unsweetened applesauce, the sugar is naturally occurring in the apples.

Do you think it would hurt to have some of it then like a tablespoon?

Every program is different, so my advice doesn't supersede your doctor's/nutritionist's, but my program actually encouraged unsweetened applesauce as an option early on (either in liquids or puree, I don't remember offhand).

How much sugar is in a tablespoon, and does that fit within your program's guidelines? Divide the amount of sugar in a serving by how many tablespoons are in that serving.

I did unsweetened applesauce but stirred in some Splenda. Helped me swallow my crushed pills when I couldn’t tolerate them in Water.

When in doubt contact your dietician.

1 medium apple - sugars 19 carbs 25. Even if you made it on your own. Apples have sugars and carbs.

Feel free to ignore the following is it does not apply to your program or food stage. I used dannon light n fit greek yogurt. 7 sugars 9 carbs with the added bonus of 12 grams Protein.

From what I have been reading, naturally occurring sugars as in apples and other fruit won’t cause dumping syndrome. I am only 2 1/2 days out of surgery.

There are the unsweetened organic apple sauce that I buy. I don't think there's a such thing as sugar free apple sauce. All fruits have naturally occurring sugars in them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
