  1. I was sleeved on April 18, 2018 by Saurabh Khandelwal M.D. at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle WA. Dr Khandelwal is the Director of the Weight Loss Center. He explained what was happening both before and after surgery and easy to understand terms.
  2. I’m finding that it started about 3.5 months after surgery. I was sleeved on April 18, 2018, luckily I have thick hair but it is disturbing to me.

  4. My surgery was April 18, 2018. I have lost approximately 27 pounds since then. I found that if I started weaning myself off of certain foods and substances such as sugar and caffeine Before I needed to, it wasn’t too bad. You can do this!

  6. I am in Renton, but I go to a meeting on the first Wednesday of the month and one on the third Friday of the month at UW at Roosevelt. Wednesday is for pre and post surgery and Friday is for post surgery.
  7. Congratulations on quitting smoking, I know it’s very difficult. I was sleeved on April 18, 2018 and I’m finding that fried food smell and sugary bakery smells are making me nauseous
  8. I hope this goes away soon… I made salmon last night for dinner and it made me very sick as did the fresh shrimp and crab I had at lunch. I had salmon a few days ago and I was fine… It’s hard to know day today how things will affect me
  9. My sense of smell is intensified and I get nauseous, and my taste buds have changed in that some foods that I like to previous to surgery I can’t handle or don’t like
  10. I had two weeks of full liquid and the surgeon reluctantly let me go onto soft foods. In the two weeks of full liquid I was nowhere near getting the amount of water or protein because I wasn’t able to handle it. I’ve just started soft foods yesterday and so far I’m eating but have to learn how to eat really slow . I was unable to handle Protein shakes and most liquids, therefore I was admitted back to the ER for fluids.
  11. Thank you. I just got another refill of Zofran, but I may see about the patch as well. Luckily I’m not taking the pain meds any longer. Just Tylenol.
  12. I can relate to this. I am 12 days out and my throat is still a little sore, and I still get a Lotta gas. I’m finding due to the Lovenox injections twice a day I get nosebleeds more often, they stop, but it cakes up inside my nose. Congratulations. I drove my car for the first time today since before surgery and I am exhausted.

  14. Good for you and taking this very important step for your life. Just remember to relax and to breathe. Good luck tomorrow
  15. I’m so sorry to hear that. Just keep a close eye on everything and contact the surgeon ASAP. I ended up in ER because of gas, Heartburn, and the inability to take in enough liquids and protein, as well as a continual low grade fever.

  17. I’m doing better thank you. I’m still not able to get all of my liquids or protein in, but I am just doing what I can. I’m not really in pain, but the nausea is still there, and last night I had dry heave‘s. It’s just going slow. I’m sorry to hear about your issues and hope you are doing well. My regular doctor just increased the amount of heartburn medication for me to take and refilled the nausea medication. Hopefully this helps
  18. I’m glad I’m not the only feeling this way. I am still having issues with nausea as well after both hydrating liquids and protein. I am 10 days post-op

  20. I went through the University of Washington program. I had been doing weight watchers on and off for many years with success and then I would gain weight back. My surgeon just said that the insurance might have a problem because I was so close to the lowest end of the BMI before surgery.
