So my dr's office finally submitted the paperwork to BCBS of IL yesterday, They said they received it, will do the medically review and then submit it to Team Care (hubby is a UPS'er) for approval. Hoping to have all of this done by May. Started the process in Nov.

Over here sitting on pins and needles. With all of my co-morbidities, I'm beyond ready to use this tool to get some relief.

Just excited and needed to get it off of my chest. I have told a few co-workers, but most just think I'm going out to have surgery on my legs for my venous reflux.

I can't wait.

Congratulations on your paperwork being submitted. It really is an achievement in this process. The next goal is getting that yes and you are close to getting it.

I understand why you can’t wait. I love my sleeve. Surgery went well for me as did folllowing the post-surgery diet. My surgery was 12/28/17 so I’m about 3 1/2 months post-surgery. The weight loss has been slow and steady for me.

Yay! What a great day for you - soak it in. 💐

Thank you. I just can't wait to feel good again. Seems like it has been so long. My insurance said it normally takes 15 days. Gonna keep myself occupied with other things.

Keep us posted how long it takes. Mines being submitted to BCBS of Oregon on Monday. I too have venous reflux and co workers think the same thing about all my Doctors appointments. I retain 20-30lbs of Water in my legs on any given day, it’s miserable and painful. Even taking 120mg of LASIK a day barely helps.

I’m praying all my appointments and tests will suffice.

I’m going for VSG, which are you choosing?

Hey just a heads up, I also have Oregon BCBS (Regence) and they quit offering any benefits for bariatric surgery on January 1st. I’m self paid but I wanted to give you a heads up.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
