4 weeks post up, now pain?

Recommended Posts

I've searched the past posts, but can't find anything related to this, and OF COURSE, it started on Friday!

Yesterday morning I woke up with pain similar to 1 week post op. I figured I just slept on my stomach and pulled my stomach muscles, gas, etc because it went away after an hour or two. This morning, same thing. I made sure I didn't sleep on my stomach, but last night I couldn't sleep on my side! This morning I'm back to using the heating pad and taking Tylenol. It's only at the large incision site, which is totally healed and looks good.

Obviously, I am calling the doctor Monday morning. I'm just looking to see if someone else experienced this? Everything else had been seemless-I've lost 18 pounds since surgery and followed doctors instructions almost to the letter!

It's good that you're calling your surgeon on Monday. If I recall correctly, it is not unheard of (although rare) for latent problems to pop up well after surgery. Just take care and try not to worry.

The same thing is happening to me! I’ll be 4 weeks post op on Wednesday. I also thought the same thing and feels the same. I also move a lot in my sleep and end up switching to my stomach most nights. So I wonder if it’s that? We seem to have that in common. I also started walking a lot more so I thought I just pulled something. Let me know what they say. I’m also gonna call Monday

At my pre surgery meeting they emphasized that at 4 weeks or so the largest incision begins to absorb and can cause a muscle spasm. A heating pad will help relieve pain. Call your Dr. , I think there is something they can prescribe for you also.

This info was on my Postiy home instructions.

I’m so glad I saw your post. I am spasming and it’s painful. It hurts to drive or sit in a chair. Calling Dr tomorrow. I thought it might be dehydration but I’m doing well with fluids. I’m only two weeks out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
