Post Op Pains

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I had a sleeve done on 02/07/18. Everything has been going great until yesterday when I had a sharp pain as I tried standing up from my seat. It was near my belly button and felt like a stabbing pain. I called the nurse and she said it was normal after surgery (she said my muscles are waking up from anesthesia) and to make sure I was hydrated. But of course, as a normal worrywart I ask, has anyone experienced something like this?

I am making sure to walk a bit more, even if it’s in circles around the house. Water has helped & im using a waist band thing (can’t remember what they’re called) that they gave me for support. I’m praying this sharp pain stops. As long as it is not a leak or an ulcer, I’m good.

Mine is also in the left side! This started 2 days ago which is why I am attributing it to dehydration...for now. Glad you’re better!

Yes for sure. I think it was at its worst maybe 2-3 weeks out and totally gone by 4 weeks. Just be careful with lifting and it should heal fine

Could still be gas or Constipation pains? I know that they have been horrible for me. I honestly would never thought I would suggest walking but I tried because I was desperate to get rid of the pain somehow and it really did help. Also, a nice hot shower helped too. Good luck!

I am between weeks 2 & 3 now. Hopefully it is gone by week 4. My problem is that I have a 1 yr old so avoiding picking her up is close to impossible BUT I am being super careful about it. Thanks!

I think I’m over the gas and constipation pains. Those have been regular for me since week 2. Walking is a blessing with this surgery. Fixes just about everything lol. Hope you feel better soon!

X2 on the climbing my kids were 20 months and 3 yrs when I was at that stage. I did pick them up a few times after about 3 weeks and was ok. Spent a lot of time with them climbing on me

I think the source of the pain might be caused by my little one as you have all suggested. She’s learning how to climb now so it is getting easier. Still not on expert mode.

Other than that I am getting more Water in and it helps a ton too. Walking outside has been extremely beneficial.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
