April/May 2018 Sleevers!!?

So many great forums and groups to link up with I’m new and already a little addicted to this app as well as everyone’s story and journey. My journey began early January and my projected surgery date is in May. I love to link up with others who are dates are close to mine just to encourage each other. I’ve already talk to some awesome people in my short time on here. I started vlogging my journey on YouTube right from the beginning so if anyone is interested check it out https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoDS8UYKi9Wu1__0j9qJ8rA

I plan to continue sharing up to and well after surgery all my feelings and experiences. Hopefully it helps someone like me or not like me at all. I’m So happy for everyone taking charge of their lives! We are incredible people.

2 days!

It’s so exciting to see so many people getting approved right now. Congrats to all of you that had to go through this stressful process. I’m currently in the first week of an extended pre-op diet that my surgeon has recommended and it’s been hard with it being so basic and changing everything so quickly. But I make it happen to ensure I don’t lose my date.

I think it will hit me when I actually have a date. It definitely hasn’t yet

I decided to get mine done in Mexico so it hit me hard when I booked it, did all the paperwork and paid the deposit which was back in November. After that it was in the back of my mind but I just couldn’t get myself on track to start then with everything but now that I am in pre-op and it’s for a month and a half it hit me again that this is happening and I have to get it together so I don’t have to reschedule since I’m not at the weight they stated for me already.

You’ll get there once you know when it’s happening for sure.

Surgery has been set for May 7th... I can't wait!

Hello All.
I did my sleeve surgery on April 3 2018. Wasn't as bad as I expected pain wise besides the gas. Omg the gas!!! If I can tell you one thing is as soon as your legs are stable enough after the surgery get up and walk around the hospital otherwise the gas will build up and it hurts like no end. I havent had much of an appetite but I try to drink as much water and at least half a protein shake every day. Although the doctor put me on Stage 2 diet I dont feel my stomach is ready for it. Still difficult to finish a whole bottle of water a day. I'm looking forward to healing and being able to incorporate some form of exercise into my schedule. I'm ready for the results now. Good luck to everyone

I'm jumping in here now as I just got my date today! 2 May 2018 is my surgery date, and have started my pre-op phase immediately as they would ideally have liked me on the pre-op diet for 4 weeks with my BMI so close to 50.

Kids will be back at school that week after the 2 week term holiday, and hubby will be taking a week and a half off to manage the kidlets (6 & 9 years) while I'm in hospital and my first few days at home.

Any other Aussies in here? I'm in Adelaide and going with Dr Michael France at Ashford Specialist Centre.

I am so crazy excited, and glad I'm not having to jump through insurance hoops and lengthy delays like so many US sleevers.

I will have to stick with just lean meats and veggies today and tomorrow until my formulite meal replacements arrive by post (can't have optifast as aspartame and other artificial sweeteners trigger nasty migraines for me), then 2 shakes and one lean meat & veg meal a day until 2 days before surgery, only shakes the last day before surgery.

*does jiggly happy dance*

My surgery date is April 12th. Really nervous but excited!
