I PUKED LAST NIGHT!

Recommended Posts

Well Well, how well I know about Ralphin!! I had Strictures and started vomiting very soon after my RNY. I had 5 ENDOSCOPES with 4 DIALATIONS. I had the FOAMIES more times than I can count. I couldn't keep even Water down. I took my sleeping pills and was throwing up all night the next morning still going at it and up comes 2 Amitriptlyn undigested they had set on top of my pouch all night and came out as they went in!! I got so tired of driving 2 hours away to see my Surgeon. From Nov 2013, Dec 2013 Jan 2014 July 2014 with my last one Jan 2015. BTW I fired my Dr. and now I have to drive 4 hour drive but at least I am comfortable with that Bariatric Center. For those of you that go out of the States and are worried about after care, you can get DR's to take you on. Also, my PCP orders my blood work and I have her add what the Bariatric DR needs and then it is faxed to them. I only have to see them if needed. There we are done cryin here. LOL

Even at 16 months out I will feel quite ill if I eat too fast. I get dumping syndrome - regardless of sugar content in food - if I eat my 1/4 oz in under 1 hour I can be quite ill for a long time. I get weak, can't talk, can't move, have never thrown up but do this weird horrible breathing thing and then I fall asleep for a period of time between 20 minutes and 6 hours. It's horrible.

I can't stress enough to be careful when eating and give yourself time. Most days it's fine but when it's bad I can't do anything and it puts my entire life on hold while I have medical event happening.

I try to maintain my good attitude and sense of humor about it. I say that I'd much rather have this horribly sick feeling than be morbidly obese and dying. So there's that. hahah!

I haven’t had the pleasure yet, but if I eat too fast or too much I get severe pain, feel really naseaus and wish I’d throw up to make it stop. After about 30 minutes it eases, but until then any activity, conversation or anything but sitting is horrible.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
