I’m about 4 weeks post op and I throw up when I drink or eat anything. Followed up with my doctor yesterday and they sent me to get an IV drip for dehydration thinking it would help my nausea. After I did my two litters I still felt nauseated, when I try to drink or eat I throw up. The first couple weeks I did not feel this way. Has this happened to anyone? I’m really scared.

What are you eating and drinking? How is it being prepared?

At that time, Protein Shakes and flavored water made me sick. I stuck with regular lukewarm Water. My food had to be completely tasteless and sugarless for me to eat it. I also had to be hydrated because I had pain in my knees.

Also, you may have to go back a phase on your diet until your stomach settles.

Ugh sounds like you're having a difficult time. I'm so sorry.

I experienced "the foamies" for the first time the other night and it was awful. They suggested I might have a stricture developing but I'm still hopeful it's just that my tummy wasn't quite ready for fish and needs more time so I've went back to full liquids.

If you aren't keeping fluids down, have they done an endoscopy to see if you have developed a stricture? If you have, please try not to worry, they can dilate it in a simple procedure so you don't experience these symptoms.

Much love x

Dang! So sorry you're having a tough time!!! Could it be a stricture? Is it EVERYTHING you eat, even Water at different temps?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
