Congrats on getting sleeved! I just got sleeved today. I also think about eating something soft, but I dont for 2 reasons:

1) I dont want to harm my tender new sleeve.

2 I dont want to slow my wight loss.

But I totally understand your thought process

Congratulations Brian Hat and Linda8. Isn't it exciting? Brian, I agree that it's surprising you were given puréed chicken a day after surgery. The reason for waiting for meats is to give the stomach some time to heal because surgery is an attack on the stomach (cutting, reshaping, stapling). Fluids are processed more easily, give the stomach time, and can determine more easily if there's a leak following surgery. It's not necessarily a matter of whether or not your stomach can handle and properly digest meat. That being said - if your doctor is ok w/it, then you have the green light (maybe he ordered the puréed chicken). On my 2-week follow-up my surgeon told me I could have small cut pieces of chicken breast - not puréed. :206_cat:

That’s pretty quick, but during the puree stage (often a week out) you can puree meat (I did chicken). Some people have said that in the hospital the food wasn’t in sync with the diet plan. Did you mention it to the nurses etc to see what they said? I doubt it will do any harm, but I couldn’t have imagined eating that a couple days out (I couldn’t even get shakes in!)

My food in the hospital was definitely in sync. The menu said something like “bariatric post op” and it was broth, diluted juice, and diet Italian ice. And there was a note on my chart that they needed to check with the nurse before serving it to me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
