Hi all. I know you’re not supposed to have any alcohol after surgery so I’m talking about a year or more down the line. What alcohol beverages are safe to consume if you were to have 1 drink socially?

I drink wine all the time. It causes me no issues and I have never gained one ounce from it.

I did wait until about 3 months post-op to imbibe again.

I am 6 months out, and have enjoyed wine and beer. I like dark beer, and I pour it into a glass and try to get some of the carbonation out. I can't drink a whole one, nor do I get buzzed from sipping slowly.

I also enjoy a glass of wine every now and then with no issues.

My biggest whine is not being able to enjoy it with dinner. I'd rather have a glass before we eat, while everyone else enjoys it with dinner. I usually have to wait an hour after eating, but by then everyone else is done and my wine is warm. By then, the desire is usually gone, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
