Anyone a student and having/had surgery?

You can’t put it off till spring break? So at least you’ll have a little extra time to recover initially. I’m currently a student, and planning my surgery for when the semester lets out.

I'm also working on my masters. I took this semester off to get my health in order. However, most have said they are back to work within a short amount of time so you may be fine.

That's a good point. My semester ends March 23. Maybe I'll ask if I can get the surgery in the 2 weeks I'm off

I'm in grad school as well. I took the semester off for surgery, mainly because I don't know how my energy level will be. I had knee surgery last June, and it was hard to catch up on my homework. Since it could take months for my energy to level out, I too the semester off and start back in May. Hoping my surgery is next month, and not in March, so I have plenty of time to recover.

I’m in grad school and I told my instructors and the program director about my surgery. Luckily my classes don’t start back until next week, but they did all agree to post the lesson plans and assignments online so that I could work on them at home. I think if you talk to your instructors (and if that doesn’t work, the program director or the dean) your school wants you to succeed so they will more than likely be willing to help you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
