So I am starting my liquid diet in a few days. My clinic has us do a 10 day liquid diet. My surgery is on January 18. I am a bit worried about being able to stick with it. Do you have any tips or tricks that helped you be successful?

sugar free Jello is my friend right now. My program allows me as much of it as I want. I have started mixing flavors to keep it interesting. I am on day 4 of all liquids day 10 of preop.

Just have to get it through your head that it's a only a few days of suffering for a year worth of rewards on the other side. What kept me going is that my doc said he had started into surgery and could tell people didn't go through with the liquid diet because their liver didn't shrink like it should have if they were following plan. I was so paranoid about that happening it helped me stick to it.

The first few days are tough but honestly it will get easier. Best of luck to you!

Lots of people say it's easier after the first couple of days. My advice is to try everything you're allowed to have to see what works for you--protein drinks, sugar-free popsicles (and fudgesicles!), sugar-free Jello, broth, iced tea, hot tea, etc. Some things won't appeal much but some will.

Good luck!

BariatricPal has some Soups that I liked. I got the variety pack. They were good when I was sick of sweet shakes.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
