Hi All:

Has anyone had this procedure at Johns Hopkins? If so, what are you thoughts? I've been wavering a lot on having it done but feel ready to make it happen!

Johns Hopkins is a premiere research hospital. In fact, it's sort of THE research hospital. https://ncsesdata.nsf.gov/profiles/site?method=rankingBySource&ds=herd They spend more money on medical research and development than any other global entity.

Zaa, agree with Creekimp13, Johns Hopkins is a world class medical facility so I would have no concerns about the hospital performing this procedure. It's an endoscope, relatively minimally invasive, so there's no incision to heal or be concerned with. What is more important IMHO is the doctor who will be performing this procedure on you.

Do you know who this would be? Are you familiar with their experience with ESG or Vertical Sleeve Gastronomy? Typical questions are how many procedures they have done? What is the rate and type of complications that their patients have experienced?

Feel free to ask questions we would be glad to help. Thx Tex

I’ve had a consultation for the ESG here a few months back. I was very interested in getting the procedure done. However, I just didn’t have $16,000 to pay up front all at once. Otherwise I would’ve went ahead with it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
