Revision from sleeve to bypass

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for some information on those who have had a revision from sleeve to bypass. I'm 5 months post-op from my vsg surgery and my stomach has severe stenosis and two strictures along with gastroparesis. They are unable to treat it with dilation so I'm going in on Monday to have a revision. I just don't know what to expect. Is there anyone out there with any advice?

I havent had it done personally, but ive been in on many sleeve to bypass revisions. And honestly its not much different than somebody having a bypass for the first time. With a sleeve basically part of the bypass is already done, so it should in theory be easier for a surgeon to do a bypass on a patiet with a preexisting sleeve. The fact that youre so lean should probably make it even easier.

I on the other hand dont know much about the strictures and stenosis and cant help you there.

But I would imagine your experience will be very similar to anyone having a bypass, with the exception that youre gonna get a lot of confused looks because youre pretty lean

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
