9 weeks pregnant 1 yr after WLS.

Recommended Posts

I had a Miscarriage in July and am very excited but still nervous now being 9 weeks pregnant. I have a high risk OBGYN, however she is unfamiliar with pregnancy after WLS. I’ve gotten no support from my surgeons office and am worried about nutrition. I’ve lost almost 4 lbs bc I can’t keep anything down. I was given Zofran but it just makes my stomach cramp and me sicker :( anyone relate or can give me advise/support? Not sure why the miscarriage happened (6 weeks 4days) but want to do whatever’s in my control for it not happen again and to have a happy healthy baby. Thank you in advance!!

I can't speak to pregnancy after WLS, but I second the suggestion to get your progesterone level checked. In order to maintain a pregnancy through the first trimester I had to use progesterone suppositories because my body didn't produce enough.

I also have a suggestion, if your high risk on/gun isn't familiar with post bariatric patients get a consultation with a ob affiliated with a hospital which also does WLS surgery. This would be advice I would give my daughter or grandaughters. Take care of that precious life inside you, I will be praying for you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
