Hi everyone! I just had my surgery yesterday. Does anyone have suggestion on how to get rid of the gas/air pain? The other question that I totally forgot to ask the nurses. How much Protein Shake should I drink at each sitting? Thanks guys!!

Walking is the best way to get rid of gas. The more you do it the better. I also take a Natural PAPAYA ENZYME, but run it by your Dr before you take it. Don't pressure yourself drinking the Protein. The thing you should concentrate on is fluids and I think I was told to sip a small amount. Your new tummy is still in a healing way. Also, whatever amount of protein you get in counts toward your fluids. I can't remember the amount but I am sure you won't be able to get much down at first. As you see I am a little over 4 years out. I'm sure someone newer will let you know. Have a great recovery!!!

For the gas pain I was told to walk, walk, walk! And it eventually went away. Every persons plan is different, but when I was recovering I was given the goal of 1 oz every 30minutes (if I can remember correctly). Congrats and good luck!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
